Our Story

The Vine grew out of a common vision that Matt and Farrah Willis-Goode and Ben and Melissa Yosua-Davis had of a church without walls - a church that would be Jesus to our communities in a new way for a new age; a way that intermingled our lives with the last and the least; a way that embodied Jesus to those who thought that church had nothing to offer.

Haverhill seemed the perfect spot for this new ministry. In 2008, Ben and Melissa were appointed as the co-pastors of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, The Vine's partner in this new venture. In 2009, the four of them officially put their roots down in the city with the appointment of Matt and Farrah to Haverhill, moving in together in intentional Christian community, devoting themselves to a life of prayer and service to others.

The Vine is the manifestation of that dream; seeking to bless lives, gather people together in the places where life happens for community building and spiritual growth, and make the city a better place to live.
